College of International Vocational Education (“CIVE”) was founded in July 2014. The College closely follows the university’s orientation of training applied innovative talents who are professional, responsible and international with moral education as the basic.
The College has 12 programs. It boasts a high-level, double-qualified and internationalized teaching force. Currently the College has 65 faculty and staff, among whom there are 1 professor, 19 associate professors, as well as foreign teachers with rich industrial experience from the U.S., Australia, Germany, Korea, etc.
CIVE expands international exchanges and cooperation of vocational education. The College has one Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run school and two Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run educational projects cooperating with educational institutions in Australia and the U.S., scholarship programs set up with universities in Korea, and the Monita College cooperatively established with Monita Group Limited, Hong Kong, China. Every year, over 100 students participate in the study and internship programs in Australia, U.S., Germany and other countries.
The College establishes a training mechanism that integrates technical innovation, industry-university cooperation and industry-education integration and adopts “double-certificate system” of diploma and professional qualification certificates. 60% of CIVE students have gained professional qualification certificates. Also, the College has made in-depth cooperation with industry-leading enterprises to build industry-education-research experimental bases and closely connect talent training with modern industrial system. The employment rate of CIVE students remains top among peer universities every year.
With over 7 years of development, College of international Vocational Education has gained fruitful results in educational reform, talent training, scientific research, discipline competitions, etc. The College has undertaken more than 30 municipal teaching construction projects of various kinds. Over the past 5 years, the average annual R&D funding reached RMB 5 million yuan. The scientific research achievements benefited the economy of Shanghai, the Yangtze River Delta Region and Southeast Asia region.
CIVE students perform well in national and municipal competitions. Students Liang Jun won the bronze medal in the web technology event of WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition Goyang came.
Looking into the future, the College will further accelerate the construction of the modern vocational education system and push forward industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation. Meanwhile, the College will continue to promote education and teaching reform such as 1+X certificate system and modern apprenticeship to train high-quality, knowledgeable and potential technical talents who can meet the new demands in the labor market.
